? about a store bought decor.

I picked up a nicely shaped stump/branch thing at the pet store today for the tank I am building for my soon to be ball python. Is there anything I need to do before I stick this hunk-o-wood in the tank? thanks for any suggestions!

u can boil it.. and scrub it to try to get any chemical off...

i scrub and then bake my cage stuff at 250 degrees faherenheit for 20-25 minutes first.
