The newest edition... *pics*

She is a two month old Thai Bamboo Ratsnake (Elaphe Porphyracea Coxi), 15 1/2 inches long. I currently have her in a 10 flat. I'm keeping her at 75, but that's only because she's a hatchling. Anyway, here are the pics. Let me know what you think, and if you have any q's ask away. Sorry about the bad picture quality on some of these. I got her last monday, and I just gave her a live pink a few hours ago.

Nice pearly white belly.

A size comparison with a quarter.

A full cage shot, note the temp. on the thermometer.

View from above, one of those bendy-vine plants placed on the bottom of the tank, a toilet paper roll for hide, water bowl, and humidity box.

They are secretive snakes and spend most of their time burrowed. I filled a critter keeper with half peat and half whole moss, and keep it lightly damp.

And finally, back to her favorite place after a long day of photoshoots.

These two turned out the best, but they're also huge so i'm posting them seperately.

She's got an interesting "highlight" along some of her stripes.

Forgot to add this in the first post.

She's very pretty Jordan! Where did you get her from? If it's EBV, then I have her sister...

Ha! That's funny, yeah she is from EBV. Did you guess by my location or because your's looks similar? I'd love to see some pics of her sister, it would be interesting to compare them. When did you get her? Also, i'm curious what temp you have her at, I was keeping this girl at 75 but she burrowed right to the glass above the heating pad so i raised it to 78 or so.

Ciddian, I got her from East Bay Vivarium, for $600. Expensive, but there were only four people who bred coxi in the us last year so they are pretty rare. She will get 25-35 inches long, they stay fairly small. She's eating the smallest live pinks I could get right now, but i'm going to try to switch her to F/t next week. Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm gonna try to find a male for her when she gets old enough.

Hi Jordan,
I guessed because like you said, there aren't that many breeders with coxi in the states and I knew the hatch date of the pair at EBV. My female looks almost identical to yours but I bought her a couple of weeks after she hatched. I haven't had any success getting her switched to f/t yet.

I keep both of mine in a hatchling rack with the temp set at 80 for the hot spot. Cool side is 74 or so.

Here's a couple of older pics of my yearling male from Stephen Emerick at Napa Valley Snakes. Sorry I don't have any of the EBV female yet (need to get to that this weekend).

Good luck with your new little coxi!
