snakes on their sides
iv always seen pictures of snakes laying on their sides but never saw any of mine do it till today. half of my boa that was on her warm side of the cage was side ways, do snakes do this to just get more comfortable or is there another reason?

We have boas that have never bred and they do that... so do the Balls and Bloods. I think it has to do with the heavy bodiedness of the animal and they are just taking the weight of the stomach for a bit. Kind of like rolling over in bed or putting your weight on the other foot.

I agree with LdyDrgn, I find Balls and Bloods/Short-tailed Pythons to be the most extreme for it. My boas do it, but not as much, and they 'tilt' more than they go completely on their sides.

thanks every one. i was thinking it was to kind of move the weight around, get a bit more comfy or whatever. i WISH she was gravid but shes never even been near a male so that would be awesome and weird.

Hey guy's many snakes do that i know even cornsnakes when they eat a big meal

But the question was :

or is there another reason?

And the why i was saying that she looks gravid isint because she's on her side but because of the last third of her body ( if its a she ) that looks like she has babies in her. It is typical of female boas taht are on their last miles of pregnancy to put that part on a heat pad when gravid when people use heatpads. ( I dont know if its your case or if its a female or a male )
Sorry for the first text guy's
