humidity
i need some help on keepin the humidity in my 20 gal baby ball tank, its got the screen top lid, should i just put a piece of plexi-glass?

I use the same size tank as well. there are few way to rise the humidity. you can cover half of the top. use a larger water bowl near the heat source. But I am now building a rack for my snake.

Yep, I use a samll piece of plastic cover half of the top where the water bowl is. You can adjust to fit your need by cover more or less. too much will cause condensation.

my 2 foot ball is in a rubbermaid about 2 feet long, almost 2 feet high and almost 2 feet wide. the lid is a hard plastic lid that it came with, i put holes in all the sides closer to the top. the substrate is a reptile bark (mulch like stuff) and there is a small plant in her cage. the humidity is just perfect. im not saying put your ball in something else, it would be easier in my opinion because i very much hate aquariums. but if you have any problems i would consider it, the less ventilation and not a moist substrate but one such as a safe reptile bark really helps.

thanks, yeh my other 1.1 are in rubbermaids, its just i have this 20 and i was double checking for humidity, he will only b in this temporarily

You can also put a wet towel over the screen top. This is how I jack my humidity during shed periods, it works wonders. The wetter the towel, the higher the humidity. Pretty simple.

I have a 10 gal. atm and those plastic dvd cases fit perfectly over the screen (i cover about 2/3 of the top. Another thing you might try is go to your local garden store and pick up some cypress mulch. That works the best because it is mold resistant so you can spray it with a spray bottle. GL on that!

Cover it like 75% (or until your humidity gets to where it needs to be). You need a bit of it uncovered to keep air circulating. good luck!

in my twenty gallon i just spray it once or twice a day it keeps the humidity right at 55-60 percent, and all it has is a cloth towel over it. i dont wet it (unless is in a shed ).

Guess it kinda depends on the humidity of where you live. I'm lucky, my house actually has a humidity dial that I can change to keep my humidity levels where they need to be.
