IMO... If your BP has always had trouble shedding, your husbandry has always been off. You should double check your humidity. Don

NEVER use tweezers on a BP for ANY reason period. If your ball python has had consistent bad sheds, rather than worry about what to do once it happens, fix it before it does; 60% relative humidity all the time, and closer to 90% during a shed cycle.

I agree with mykee and Jeff. what i do is when any of my BP eyes go foggy I put the water source right over the heat source and mist every day. Haven't had a bad shed yet doing it this way.

What are you housing it in? Im guessing a tank right? Id try out a rubbermaid, I keep my ball pythons in them.

If you can get your humidity to 80% you WILL have a good shed assuming your ball python is in otherwise good health.

Relative humidity can be raised by using a water dish with a larger surface area, and lightly misting the cage a couple times each day with a plant spray bottle (empty ones can be found in wal-mart for less than a buck where they keey the trial size bath product stuff).

If you are using a tank with a screen top, go to the home improvement store (lowes, home depot, etc.) and have a piece of plexi glass cut to cover all but a small portion of the top of the screen top. This will help hold in both humidity and heat, so keep an eye on your temps as you make changes.

If you tell me more about your enclosure I can offer better suggestions. Do you have something to measure the RH with?

For the already stuck on shed, soak your snake in tepid water a couple of times before his next shed cycle. Dont force his head under, though, and leave him in the bucket, sink or tub for at least 5 minutes each soak if he will tolerate it. Hopefully he will lose the excess in his next shed also.

humidity may be a problem but i spend a large amount of my time(about 10 hours a day) to make sure that all my snakes are in the best care possible

sorry if that seems a little blunt, i just don't like for ppl to think i don't care for them(my snakes) properly

thank u all for the help and i will do my best to assure that next shed the humidity will be adequate

"About 10 hours a day", and you can't get the humidity right?.....
Good luck with the sheds, and I truly mean that.

Tyler, that's Sterlite.
