Stargazing?

Omega is out of his hide in the middle of the day, which is odd for him, and on top of one of his hides propping the first 7 inches of himself pretty much straight up in the air.

Seems as though he has had a more foul than usual smelling poop, and I just cleaned out the enclosure a couple days ago.

I dont hear any wheezing, but I raise the temp a few degrees just in case of impending RI.

Is there a typical age when IBD would manifest itself? He doesnt seem shaky at all.

Ive never seen him do this before, though I could have just been missing it.

Thoughts welcome-

Artemis

I believe IBD is a very quick killer in BP's. I have a male that does this every time he has a really good crap though, I think he is just trying to get away from the smell. You have had Omega for a while I think if he had IBD it would have shown by now. Have you been handling pet store animals without washing etc, if not I wouldn't worry about IBD. Keep your eyes open for signs of RI, but I would think he is trying to avoid the poop.

LOL he isnt the only one! This one is particularly foul. Gotta clean it when I get back from the gym. Hoping it will dry out and be a little less rank by then! Thanks Nita. It never occured to me it bothered them, but if his sense of smell is stronger than mine, then I gotta feel sorry for him

And no, no handling of any pet store things recently, and never without washing.

flip him on his back, if it takes a long time to right himslef, or he doesnt at all, I would begin to worry.

Naah I took him out today when I cleaned the enclosure (again) and he seems his normal, fine self. Much less stinky up there now, too.

Its the paranoid mom in me, as always I never much looked into IBD as he has never given me any reason to worry before. Had to ask in case I was ignoring something serious. But after it was clean he seemed fine.... Went right on back to his hide. Ill still be keeping a closer eye on him for a few days anyhow, just to ease my own mind.
