Question Bromeliads

I recently bought a bromeliad and it has two plants growing from the one root.

Is there any way I can split them?
I do not want to kill a 20 dollar plant.

thank you in advance

wow 22 views and ne replys there must not be many plant people on this site.
I did get an answer from anouther site rightaway though.
here it is:

Bromeliads reproduce by a new plant forming off of the root of the mother plant.

The seperate you can just lightly dig up the plant and gently pull the pup off the mother in a downward tear to keep some of the roots intact.

Now you all know!

peace
