odd behavior

Just got a large BCI as a rescue and it is my first snake. She is about 5 and a half feet long right now (largeish). Anyway, I have had her about two weeks and she is eating and adjusting well. Have her in a 55 gallon rubbermaid with a large UTH, keeps warm end about 85-90. She has a large 24qt rubbermaid for a water dish. She has been spending almost all of her time for the last three days in her water dish. Why? Thanks for your help.

In most cases, it is either too hot, she has mites, is shedding or just simply wants to sit in the water bowl.

Treat her for mites.

Either mites, or she is dehydrated. Then again, some just like to take long baths!

No mites, of that I'm sure. She isn't doing it anymore, I was prob. overreacting. Thanks everyone.

Not trying to be stupid here (I'm a newbie) but could you tell me, what does BCI stand for? Thanks.

Boa constrictor imperator - it's the abbreviation of the Latin name.
