Feeder Fish

I recently aquired some goldfish from my High School Carnival. I was wondering if anyone has had experience feeding them to kingsnakes, especially california kingsnakes. One of the original 5 has died, so i'm not sure if they are sick, but i think they are ok. Any input would be helpful.

From what i have heard about gold fish in general is that they are really bad to use as feeder fish. Im not sure why, but maybe someone can clarify.
As for a Cali eating fish......i could be wrong but i dont think they would take them. I have never tried it with mine, maybe someone has.

Hopefully someone will come and confirm everything.
