Boa Constrictor...impossible to get rid of???
I have 2 Columbian Red Tailed Boas. I only want 1 of them. I've been trying to sell for sometime at $110 or best offer. Is this just too much, or are they next to impossible to get rid of? It's a year old and female. Any ideas? Suggestions? You can e-mail me at i_daddy4ever@yahoo.com if you like. I live in Ohio.

Probably because you are advertising on a predominantly CANADIAN website. Shipping to Canada is going to be over $250-300 after CITES and all that jazz. No one's going to pay $410 for a normal Boa. Try advertising in your local paper, go to a reptile show, sell it to a pet store, etc etc etc.

I've went to a petstore, they said too big. I've put up fliers and put in paper. No luck, this has been going on for a good month or more.

the newspaper might work well. find out if you can advertise at the pet store, that might work too. if youv put her on other websites, iv noticed alot of websites that let people advertise what their selling also alow people to advertise what they want and i have seen on many of them-people looking for bcis. if you really want her gone lower the price and if you desperatly want her gone maybe give her to a rescue (or if your near me i might take her lol)

Or try faunaclassifieds.com . That's primarily American, and I think the ads are free.

Also was curious, I want to move the one I keep into a bigger home. Is a 99 gallon aquarium big enough for the majority of a boa's lifespan? Yes, no? Is it also economical compared to other choices? Thanks for reading.

How much would shipping be on something like that? Maybe we could split shipping costs, and I could just charge $100 on the snake to cut you a bit of a break? You can e-mail me if you like at i_daddy4ever@yahoo.com

Shipping overseas is even more expensive than shipping across the Can/US border. You have to deal with the high cost of shipping, which may include several different flights to get there, as well as arranging inspections, aquiring import and export permits, etc.
Like was mentioned above, try some of the free US classfieds. You can also contact the reptile shows in your area to see if they offer alternatives to full tables for people with only one or two items/animals to sell. If not, you can use it as a way to meet boa breeders... many boa breeders keep their eyes out for adult females. Like Jeff said, try looking for them. You could even look in directories or through large classifieds and web sites of breeders, and email them to find out if they are interestested, or know anyone that might be. Good luck selling your snake.

Thanks for the advice. If I attend the show, (I've never been to one, sorry), could I just walk around w/the snake around my neck? Is that a no-no? Would I just keep it in the car? Any info is appreciated. Thanks for reading.
