Got some eggs!!

My 1st Python breeding and so far so good!

I counted 12-13 good size eggs and 2 small one. She dropped a slug on Friday and this morning when I went to check on her, she was on a pile of eggs twitching!! I just removed her from her eggs and placed them in the egg box just like she laid them.

I decided to incubate the eggs in an igloo cooler I set up as an incubator. I have a 11" flexwatt tape to the bottom, 10 bottles of water, egg-crate on top of the water bottles, egg box with 1" of water, 3 layers of egg-crate, eggs on top of egg-crate, plexiglass covering egg box.

My temps now are steady at 87.5F or 89.4F-90F. My Helix reads 89.4F and digital WalMart brand reads 87.5F-88F both probes are inside the egg box. Humidity is at 90.

I'll keep an eye on the temps and look in on the eggs once a week!

Thanks Jeff, should I seperate the eggs at some point or leave them as is? I'll check the temps a few times a day, but will look in on the eggs once a week.

I'm not using any substrate, just 1" of water in the egg chamber. Should I still expect mold on some of the eggs and should I care? I don't care much for pretty eggs, just ones that hatch.

Separate the eggs? Bad idea. They were laid in a clutch, they should hatch in a clutch. Good eggs don't get mold!

Keep us updated!

Some will take rat pinkies, others will need larg mouse fuzzies. Live for the first 2-8 meals. Some are better than others.

Baby Carpets eat SURPRISINGLY large meals.
