local dialect of ontario

my sister who has been lucky enough to travel many places in canada and across the world. has told me that here in southern ontario, is the only place you here people use the word Anyways. this made me think. i called up a friend of mine in BC and he confirmed that people in bc, or at least the ones he talks with do not use the term, or at least not very much.

Anyways i was just wondering if anyone could confirm or disprove this little theory of my sisters

Well I always use the word anyways, then again my mother was a librarian and later edited school text books, so she always insisted on proper english. I love how riled she gets when I use the word Funner.

I've used the word, Ive heard the word, But as I grew up it changed to "Anyway", without an "s". So there very well might be some truth to it!
