snakes vs. drums

hi, i'm a new member, and i wasn't exactly sure where to post this question, as it involves multiple species of snakes. basically, my problem is this: my daughter wants to buy a drum set and i'm afraid the noise would be bad for my snakes. i know snakes have no ears, but my house isn't very big, and i know they would feel the vibrations. my first thought is that this would be very stressful for them, so i have not allowed the drum set in the house thus far. i just wanted to see if any of you who are more experienced than i know whether i am right and the drums would be harmful, or if i am just worrying too much. thank you for your replies.

How close to the snakes will the drums be? It depends on how big the vibrations are.

If you can feel the vibrations, they definitley can. If the vibrations are too strong, it's possible to lead to a regurge from the snakes...

If the vibrations aren't that bad, I don't think it would be much of a problem... I've got tv and music in my room, while its not a drumset, I doubt vibrations elsewhere in the house would be so bad.

You can also buy rubber flat pads that fit on top of the drum heads themselves---this muffles the sound/vibration. They're like floppy thin frisbees. lol I think they're called practice pads. There are different ones for different sized toms and snare---you can put a good sized pillow in the bass and that will muffle it too. Good luck-- cool that your daughter digs drums---very cool!

you might try putting a sheet of foam under your snake tanks to reduce the vibration. Just an idea not actually sure if it would help, but it sounds reasonable

ive been playing drums for years and have never had a problem but a practice pad might be a good idea if only for your own sanity
