Mother and son -

This big old girl produced a clutch last year, and only one egg hatched. The little guy started on culled cornsnakes, but is a voracious feeder on mice now - though still on the small side - trying to keep him from getting fat! These are our only two cal kings, but both are so full of personality, I can't imagine not having them!

downing a jumbo mouse after 'soaking' it in her waterdish!

and son - has to be one of the cutest snakes we have - and a real sweetie too

just normal cal kings but great snakes!

Thanks everyone - these two are so much fun. The mom came to us as a very skinny rescue through the Edmonton Reptile Society when we lived there. She has the sweetest temperment and will 'play dead' - if you roll her over on her back in a coil she holds the position - just looking up at you!! Very cute - have to get a pic some time. Her name is Dixie. The little guy is named 'Griddle' after a race horse we saw one time.
