HELP! is now my....5th clutch gone 2 waste
Im so fustrated............
last year i did fine tell the end of the season.
What am i doing Wong??????????
1st the eggs got moldy so i lowered the humidity and fixed that.
2ed the eggs caved in so i raised the humidity.......dident work
This is my set up:
- a "real" incubator (not home made)
- temp = 83f
- substrait = vermiculite
- a container full of water for humidity
the eggs have been layed in moist vermiculite , when i found them they were perfectly round (oval ), white and hard.
Its just killin me!!! im wasting this years breeding season, it worked last year (Im using a diff male this year)
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also i have witnessed the male breeding with a femail before, i guesss that doesent meen the eegs will defenitly be fertile tho. right?

You can never really be certain that all the eggs are fertile if you witness copulation. The health of both snakes is a big factor and for a lack of better terms, your male could be "shooting blanks".

I think you may need to double check your humidity again, also the male may be the problem. Does you incubator have a fan? Because even with proper temp/humidity the fan will dry out the eggs. Also is there enough air flow? I know my incubator has several holes in the bottom (4 I think) and a few holes in the plexyglass lid (2 I believe. If they are not all open, you may not have enough fresh air.

Ya drying outs a big issue you have to check moisture constantly. I was sick for 2 weeks and I had 6 eggs due. Well I left the top off the container the last time I was in there and forgot about that. So when I finally got well and remembered to check the eggs I lost 3 clutches :-/
