Anyone a Survivor fan?
Is anyone watching survivor tonight?
I used to be a fan, but now will not watch it anymore. They killed 3 sea snakes for them to eat.....what a waste. I hope they all eat the wrong part and get sick from the venom.

I was thinking mor about the fact of how stupid they are, if they got bit, being out their, that far away from medical attention and I doubt they would have Anti Venom on hand, might as well kissed their a$$ goodbye.

I was surprised when I saw that on the show. I know there are rules on what animals they are or aren't allowed to kill for food. It may also have to do with the country they're in.........certain countries would protect certain species.
My 10 year old daughter started crying when they did it.......then turned away for quite some time. At least I know she has compassion for all animals............

Yeah I saw it too, and it pi$$ed me off to say the least. I thought the worst part was that they just used them as bait to try and kill the sharks. The whole time I was praying that the snakes would get just one strike in and take down at least one of those mf's. Then when they didn't, I had my fingers crossed that the shark would at least take of a foot or something.

Amazing thing is, they used all the snake meat to bait the sharks, which they didn't catch............... Now they killed the snakes.........and still have nothing to eat...........

Ah I dont know guys...
I dont see anything wrong with hungry people using the snakes as food...
I mean I know we love herps here... but lets not be hypocritical... What if the survivors killed a rat or a pig for food? How about if they were served burgers? Would you be pissed that someone killed a cow for food?
I so think it was crazy of them to waste the snakes trying to catch the sharks

Their 1st idea wasn't really that bad. Although i hated the fact that they killed those beautiful snakes, if your starving and their is an animal which is in abundance then you got to take it whether it is a pig a fish or a snake. Now their 2nd idea was stupid. Maybe if they had the snakes meat seperate for their food supply then they could have thrown the waste (guts) in to attract the sharks................

Shadow
I was more pissed that they killed them then wasted them trying to kill another animal. Yes, I uderstand that it's hypocritical if they were eating burgers or whatever, but I highly doubt that whoever killed the cows, killed say...a pig for bait, to kill the cow. And yes I know cows are vegetarians, it's an example.

probably cause they're so damn tasty!
edit- also, it doesn't bother me nearly as much because they didn't kill...say rabbits, to use for bait to catch the rats.

I don't watch this show although my sister and mother do. Tonight while it was on they yelled to me to see this event and of course it ticked me off. Now i don't know this show what so ever in the fact of how 'alone' they are out there etc.... I would assume that being how TV is now that the camera crew etc.. have hamburgers maby some chicken alfredo on hand. If this WAS a life or death situation then yeah no harm done. But was this really a life or death situation, i highly doubt that. It's for show and show only. How neat that would be to see them kill a venomous snake and have the shark coming after it and all that good stuff to others in Canada/US. I may be way off here but i just think for them to kill anything on that show for just the money they make etc.. is sickening and downright stupid

I watch the show, and the first thing that came to mind when they went to kill the snakes was if they got bit. They sure would have been in some trouble.
And I agree with shadow on this one, if it came down to me not eating at all or eating a herp of some sort, I would eat it.

The thing that bothered me the most (and most of it bothered me) was when that old guy said something to the effect of, "I was good to have like-minded people to enjoy taking part in killing the snakes." I don't watch Survivor and never have but occasionally I catch bits of it on my way to better TV. I just happened to catch this part. I was a little bothered that the snakes were sleeping when they decided to kill them.
