how old?

How old does a veiled chameleon need to be before offering greens? I just noticed my 5 month old cham has been chomping away at my pothos plant. I don't keep it in his cage yet, but let him come out on it while I clean his cage out. he has a big healthy appetite for crickets, he eats about 15 a day and probably would eat more if I give them to him. should I try collards yet? or does anyone know what they prefer?

Whenever their jaws are strong enough to tear at the leaves, I'd say 6months+.

They don't usually eat greens, I see some leaves torn on my ficus and pothos and schefflera plants, but not enough for me to think of offering greens as part of the diet. My female veiled goes after anything that moves, especially when it's between my fingers, so I feed her grapes and soft fruit sometimes, she loves the grapes.

well I tried a spinach leaf, the little rascel started to gobble it up like there is no tomorrow. I was concerned the glutten was going to choke on it as he was chompin and taken in the whole leaf at once, so I reach out to pull it back and he spit it all out. so that is enough of that for now. I will stick to crickets and feed the spinach to the crickets. ")
