female eating about 5 times as much food as normal

I just introduced a male to my female and about a week later I have noticed my female eating huge amounts of food. She usually doesn't eat much at all but the last few days she is eating huge amounts of food. Her tail has gotten noticably fatter in just the past few days. Is there something wrong? Babies on the way perhaps? I am really hoping for as I am a first time breeder. I have done a lot of research but I couldn't find anywhere that the female eats more then usual. I heard they like more calcium at the time of mating, but not that they eat more.

Yea the female will eat more when they are breeding, but will eat barely anything just before laying the eggs.
