Question Feeder Anoles and House Geckos

At lllreptile.com they have feeder green anoles and house geckos for sale. Do you think there is anything wrong with these lizards that might be passed on to what has eaten it? Do you think it's possible to "save" some of these creatures and turn them into pets?

yes, these feeders, if wc, can carry parasites that can be passed on. and yes, it is also possible to keep them, although you probably will not have 100% success rate, cuz some of them are wc.

All lizards that are used as feeders are wildcaught, who is going to take the time to breed anoles or house geckos to just feed them to animals? The reason they are sold as "feeder Lizards " is not because they are full of parasites ,it is because they are mising tails, limbs etc. They can not be sold in the Pet Trade as pets ,so instead of a total right off on them they are sold as food.I am not saying that any of them do not carry parasites ,because in all probabilty some of them do,I am just saying that is not the reason they are sold as feeders.Yes you can keep them as pets ,but they will probably be some ugly ones LOL.

the pet stores here sell the SAME lizards as both pet and food. universla price of around $10 an anole or somthing liek that! quantitiy is where the prices for feeders come in.

i first started out in this hobby with these lizards. house geckos, anoles, grass lizards etc. almost all of them lasted 4+ years. but they were not mutilated and looked fairly healthy at purchase.
