How do I introduce a male and female for the first time?

I finally got the male I've been looking for! and I got a great female to put him with! but how do I introduce them? Can I just put them toghther or just in small amounts of time? any advice

i dont have experience with cresties, but with other lizards i start with "visits" in neutral territory. when i put them to live together, i rearragne the cage furniture if one of them has already been living there, because it makes them less territorial.

Thanks alot. Short visits like 5 minuts to start a few times a day or like a half hour?

The first thing i would do is quartine them and monitor their health, calcium intake and feeding habits before even placing them together

5 minutes isn't going to do anything...

You'd want to make sure both are healthy as David said. I just keep my pairs together all the time...

like it has been pointed out, you want to quaranteen the new animal for at least 3 months. Opinions will deffer on this subject but that is my MINIMUM. When it comes time to introduce them, I put the male into the female's enclosure. No visits, they are not humans, they are programmed to procreate. Im sure it does not matter which one you decide to move, I have always with every type of animal I have owned Introduced the male into the females enclosure. The reasoning behind this is males tend to be territorial and i beleive by taking the male out of his territory and introducing him to a new one decreased the chance of any territorial disputes.
Like I said this is what I personally do. Other people may do it diffrently, but I personally beleive it lowers the chances of a confrentation.

I was just wondering if your female was the same one in your other thread? The one that sounds like it has MBD?
If so, you should definitely take care of that problem first before you even think about introducing new cagemates, let alone breeding her.

If the female has MDB, I would definitely not breed it for at LEAST the time being, and in fact never if there is any permanent damage.

When my crested gecko got MBD he developed a little hunchback, and I decided if he was going turn out to be female to never breed him... he turned out male, and has a pretty good life now that he's all healthy
