Update on Tnt Beside my house- Rest in Peace

Some of you may remember my post on how they are dynomiting directly beside my house. Well so far the house has held up...but my snakes are another question.
On tuesday I got home from work to see that my 12 foot burm(which i have had since she was 1 foot) was dead. This girl has NEVER had a single problem her whole life. 1 Week after the blasting started she regurged a big rabbit. Then roughly 1 week after that she started to 'shed'. Not a regular shed thought...single scales at a time(mostly on her underside). This 'shed' was also alot thinker then usually almost as if she was losing her scales.

Sorry to hear about your snake. Unfortuanately whomever was doing the blasting was most likely following the legal guidelines for doing so & had the appropriate permits. Unless you can prove that they were blatantly negligent resulting in the death of you snake, almost impossible even with an autopsy (sp?). Even if you could prove it, you may get a little cash, but have already lost the snake whom can never be replaced. Was it Seismic Blasting? It seems odd that if it was within the legal distances from dwellings that it would affect the snake so much? I personally have done a lot of blasting in my time & have seen lots of issues arise in reguards to animals & properties, but this is kind of a new one. Sorry to hear about your loss. I would definitely consider addressing it to whomever is in charge of the blasting & a little research into the laws reguarding the type of blasting never hurts. Having worked for many oil companies I know how much (how little actually!) respect they have for legalities & the rights of others. Best case would be an apology & some cash (maybe shut them down if you can get some dirt on them) from them, which is hardly appropriate for yourself & your loss, may she RIP, Mark
P.S. if it was Seismic they will have a permit person in charge of all "pay offs" for "damages" as it is very common to compensate folks after "legally" destroying their property etc.
