dums ????

how old or how big should the male be for breeding i'm trying to find out what i can i would like to see if the two i got this past fall will be big enough next winter for breeding the female is about 4.5 feet and the male is about 4 feet


any other info would be helpful thank you

My smaller male was ready this year and I his approximatly 4 feet long. That's the female that is a crittical point. If you are not certain, it is always better to wait one more year to permit a female to gain weight.

The size isn't as important as the age.
The male will breed or try to at 1.5 + years the females should be at lest 3 pref 4 years old.
A lot of people will try their snakes younger but it could lead to problems, ie infertile eggs premature births egg binding and death.
These things usually don't happen but is it worth the chance? Remember they could live 20 + years so whats waiting a year of two to breed?
