Sometimes you think they are so smart....
But sometimes not! Ha ha video taping them eating crickets the other day. And this one cricket eluded this young female Ackie for like 10 minutes. LOL! Here's the ending:

Oh yeah. There's no "season" with monitors. They lay eggs all year round. Should be getting a couple hundred eggs fairly soon. We kept back a BUNCH of females from last year that we hatched out, so hopefully we can get 25-30 clutches over the spring/summer.
Cheers!! Thanks!

I have been thinking that I should add ackies to my collection. I used to love my friends. They are one of the best non turtle/tort reptiles to keep. Mmm..good to know you will have some available. TB

Nice video Jeff, I just bred my first ackies at work (where I take care of the breedings), got a clutch of 9 eggs. I tell you these guys really grow on you, they have such personality, think I'm going to have to buy me a few!

Cool vid!
Ok, one thing... we need some commentary, man! You know? A little play by play.
P.S. Is all that noise from crickets? Holy smokes! Now I know why you don't sleep much!

Yeah, I breed crickets where in the monitor room. There's probably over 20,000 in that room! LOL!
