Leo Tank Size Question...
I was just wondering everybodies thoughts on this...
I just got 5 adult females and soon to be a male as well (hopefully), and I was wondering if a 20 gallon aquarium is too small for them? At least I think it's a 20g. It measures 2.5' x 1' x 1', whatever that is. I've provided lots of hides too. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

A 50 or 55 gallon tank would probably best. Usually one gecko for every 10 gallons. 20 gallons I think is a little too small for 5 geckos.

Hi there,
I kinda agree with snakegal. You want to try and give your geckos as much room as possible. Like she said min. is 10 gallon per gecko. Don't forget to offer lots of different hides.

Another question...
Should I put them in seperate containers for feeding to ensure they all eat and so some don't over eat? Or should I just throw the crickets in there with them and a dish with mealies?

Besides agreeing with the others about needing to use a bigger tank, I don't think that you need to feed them seperately if they are all relatively the same size (which they should be if being kept together). But if you notice that one of your geckos is not growing as well as the others you could just take that one out to feed seperately. HTH and I hope you can find a larger tank for a good deal.

Yep they're all the same size, and it shouldn't be hard to find a good deal on a larger tank, I have an empty 55g sitting in front of me! : )
I just thought that was too big for them! See you learn something new everyday!

Hump don't worry about too big of tank. I had them in a 4x2x18 so space isn't a huge deal with them.
Now wait until you feed them. Now thats fun to watch.

Oh I know! I've never seen leos eat, except for when my buddy fed his a pinky mouse. I threw a few dozen crickets in there for them right after you left and let me tell you, I LMFAO!!! If I would have seen them eat before, I woulda had some of these little dudes ages ago! I still can't get over it! LOL! I can't wait to feed them again to show my girlfriend, she's gonna die laughing!
They're in a 35g for today and I'm in the process of setting up the 55g (I think it's a 55 anyways, it's 4'L x 20"H x 18"D, whatever that is) as we speak and getting the temps all good to go. I love 'em, they're wicked! Thanks Bro!

I have my leos in 27 gal longs with suspended hides and lots to climb on (see website) I keep 5 per and they are doing great! But the bigest I think I would go is 36"x24"x15" for 6 leos. remember, hight is not important, ground space is. You can make up for smaller ground spaces a bit but adding in suspended hides on the wall IMO, check out my website for ideas/designs, you might find ideas you like.

That link is missing 27 gal longs, 36"x12"x15"  I have 4 of them so they are real, and made by Hagen.
