Biggest Blood, Borneo, Sumatran
Hi everyone, I thought it would be interesting if everyone could post how long and heavy there biggest shortail python is. Maybe a picture too if u have one. I just love these guys, and I wan to see some real monsters. I have read they can get to be over 4o pounds but I have never seen a pic of one that big.

This is one of our old bloods that passed away. She was 25-28pounds and 5.5 feet long.
And here is our other female that is currently in a breeding project, she weighs 17pounds and 5.5' - 6.0' feet long. This pic is when she was about 14 1/2 pounds

Amazing Bloods! Too bad your big female passed away. She was a very impressive animal.

I could never house that though.... Lack of space....
Lack of will to feed rabbits to stuff...

Thanks for the comments.
The striped female was 3-4 years old. We got her about 4 months before she passed. We do not know what happened. The other females age is unknown. Im guessing its around....5 years old.
Pablo, you dont have to feed rabbits to bloods. You can feed them large rats. The only reason we are feeding the female rabbits right now is because we got 16 1.2-1.9 pounders for the price of large rats.
Longest blood I have seen was in a pic and it was just shy of 8ft, second biggest/longest one I have seen was just over 7ft, and was about 35lbs, I think it was a little large(ie: overweight). The fattest(ridiculously obese) blood I have seen was about 6-6.5ft and im guessing a good 50lbs. Many bloods are too fat, and in females this can cause lower levels of sucessful production(Ie: Eggs produced, fertility).
BTW: The funny lookin guy in the pics is me, lol.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Like I said to you before, I have to come and take a look at some of your snakes. You have some really sweet snakes. I might even buy one of your babies, if you get some in the near future....
Thanks again.

My Borneos are both about as big as the Bloods pictured above. Here's the only pic I have with anything for scale.
