A few questions for all you froggers!
I've been thinking alot lately about getting into the froggies. I think I want to get some pacman frogs or dart frogs or both! I just have a few questions for all of you first though.....
1. Can either of the above mentioned species be sexed as youngsters or do you have to wait until sexual maturity and breed them to find out?
2. Can either species be housed in colonies (1m,2-4f) providing they are all close to the same size? or do you keep them seperate except for breeding purposes? \
3. Anyone know any good links to caresheets for either species?
thanks in advance,
Hump.

i dont know anything about dart frogs.. but i know a bit about pacmans.. i might be wrong on somethings but im sure someone will correct me lol. ok, for sexing.. i think one thing that helps a lot for them is croaking.. males with start making a lot of noises.. but i think there's exceptions to this rule because some females can do it too... for pacmans i know it's a good idea to keep them seperated.. but im pretty sure you can put a few dart frogs together.. and i dont know any care sheets... sry i couldnt be more helpfull..
Davey
P.S. get someone to confirm what i said before you do it because im not positive

housing: darts can definitly be kept in groups, in fact that is usually how they are kept. pacmen must be housed alone, as they will try to eat one another even if they are the same size.

whether or not darts can be house in colonies depends on the type of dart. Some are more aggressive then others and therefor do well with a 1 male / 1 female ratio rather then a group. I know azure (blue dart) females can be quite aggressive towards eachother which can result in death of the sub female by the dominate one. It also comes down to the space.. colonies can work but only if you have enough space for a colony... what kind of space were you thinking of devoting to frogs?

whatever it takes. I have from 5 gallon aquariums to 65 gallon aquariums and everything in between just sitting there asking for some inhabitants!

Awesome! Thanks for all the replies everyone.
Anyone on here know where to get a reasonably priced colony of darts?
Are they the same as the pacmans as far as sexing?
Wait till they croak? (make noise, not die, of course!)
