enclosure temps?

What is the proper hot spot and cool side temps for boas? I can't seem to keep mine steady. They range from 88.1 to 91.2 for hot spot. Is this acceptable or is too wide or a range?

smeagel...i don't know the hot spot temps...but if it is around 89 or 90 then that is fine...do u think a hot spot in the wild would be constant for boas, I think not. people may say, 90 exactly no ifs ands or buts...they take it was to seroius then...if it's a thermostat controlled temp then I'd say it isn't a very good one...but if rheostat that's fine...my ball's hot spot is anywhere from 87-91...whatever temps my room happens to be depends on his hot spot...he's still kicking and doing great, never missed a rat...

Thats fine. My boas hot spot ranges also, from about 88-92. But it really doesn't matter because my boa never basks anyway. For some reason she loves the cool side. She stays in her cool hide for 10-12 hours a day and ventures out at night to do some exploring. As long as you offer a spot above 86 or 87 your fine, the boa will regulate itself.

I have a Peruvian BCC. Her set up is 6.5 ft x2.5ft x4ft high, with very lg. grapewood for climbing, several hides at different temps, which she uses all of.
Plenty of room for a 4mo. old, 42" baby, I know, but she will grow into it...lol (she was 27" at birth...huge!)
She is currently taking small f/th 2 every 5 days like clockwork...
Listen...BOAS LIKE IT HOT...her temp range from 78 to 100 in her hot spot...she uses ALL of it...
If you want a happy, HEALTHY boa, use common sense...but a 100 degree hot spot in one area is a great option for any snake.

Sorry...I forgot to say that the ambient temp, overall, should be AT LEAST 87... aslong as your boa can go to a cooler (80 or so)area.
THE TEMPS MUST NEVER FALL BELOW 78....EVER!
