why keep giant's?

Hi i was just wondering what motivates people to want
keep giant snake's such as retic's, rock's,and burm's?
they obviously have specific need's such as large room size enclouser's, large feeders ect....not to mention the potential dangers .i have nothing against people who keep them aslong as their responsible keepers and can provide for thier needs (obviously) i myself would love to own a burm but i simply just dont have the resources.
so whats your motivation?

I like the species. Retics are IMO the most beautiful snakes out there. I love the colour morphs and enjoy the challenges of working with an intelligent giant. I love Burms and Afrocks too. I just happen to be good with giants. I suck with small snakes like Kings and stuff like that. In my mind, nothing will ever come close to a Retic.

There is nothing like observing one of natures giants within your own home. They are such incredible and AWESOME animals.
I have woirked my way up to the large pythons, I started with corns, kings, ranbow boas, boas and eventually ot to where I wanted to be dealing with Afrocks and burms

i would have to say just the power that they have is what amazes me. i know people dont think much of snakes being powerful animals but they truely are.

My burm reminds me more of a dog. He loves attention. Loves it when you stroke his skin. Just a very gentle snake. Where as my ball is the oposite. He tolerates being held, but is mostly a loner.

For me I saw a little Afrock in a pet store and I thought they were the koolest lookin snakes around so I got one and now I'm hooked.

I don't know where anyone got that idea. There seems to be alot of ignorance over here regarding giant python husbandry.

Not realy I hate room size enclosures they are too dangerous.
I would rathe make a cage longer and larger then taller.
If you have ever seen a snake climb up a wall and fall you only have too see it once to realize that if a 15 foot snake climbs a wall of a room and falls and by some freak of nature breaks a rib I would not want to be the one that would have crate that animal and bring it to the vet. Now imagine a 20+ feet snake.

Yes yes I know the chances of it happening are slim to none but so is geting struck by lightining but you are not dancing in the rain during a thunder storm are you.
