... and BLEAH to you too!! (hognose pic)
Miss Pigasus, my very opinionated W. Hognose.
She only seems to like me at feeding time.
(For some reason I orginally posted this in the Photography Discussion forum.... no clue why, don't ask me. Maybe it's a Monday thing Sorry if I confused anyone by moving it here. )

I just love my digital cameras. It took almost 64MB of pictures to get that one and 2 other good reasonably in focus pictures.
I've heard that hognose snakes can be picky eaters. I've only had her and her future mate, Theodore, since early December, but they've never refused a meal. He's on fuzzies and she's finally up to 2 pinkies in one meal.
I think they're going to end up being my favourite snakes.

Oh you are SO lucky! Are they are on f/t or live? mine won't touch it unless it's moving...on it's own
I'm *attempting* to get him on f/t though. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. If not I have some mice that I can breed *sighs*

They're both on F/T. All I have to do is put the feeding dish in there and they both 'run' over, ready to eat.

Today was feeding day for the hoggies, so I managed to get a picture of Theodore eating. They swallow their food so fast I don't get a lot of time to take a decent picture.
I just love the way their 'cheeks' flatten out when they're eating. It makes them look like they're swallowing the Christmas turkey.

and they eat head first! Man you hit the jackpot! lol
I just noticed you have an evil snake (lol but there is a skull there if you look.)
I've noticed on mine that the "reds" are turning "purplish red"....wish I could get a pic, but they are so small, and I don't have a digi camera!

(Sorry sapphire_moon, I thought I might as well really rub it in and post pictures of both eating, huh? )
Miss Pigasus ate slow enough this time for me to get a few pictures.
First you grab the pinky by the neck and hiss at it.
Then you grab it by the head and start swallowing.
All gone
Maybe I'm just extremely lucky, but I've never had a problem with my snakes eating. My first snake (amel motley corn) took about 3 weeks to settle in and eat, but there's never been a problem since with any of them refusing food. The most ravenous one I have is the male Ruthven's king. I'm sure he'd get his own food if he could open the freezer.
