Insane Feeding Response!!! (Graphic Pics!)

W O W !!!

I love my whiteside bull. Such attitude on him!

This guy is a maniac and shows it especially when feeding! Just the other day I decided to try using aspen substrate along with newspaper (have been using only newspaper) and not so sure that it's gonna work with him.

As soon as the tub was opened and the rat was within strike range, this guy lunged out at it and nailed the FT rat! Almost 80% of the bulls body followed... right out of the bin!!!

He instantly got a good grip on the rat, and it was all over from there!

Not so sure how the aspen will work, you can see him flinging it all over in this pic! It's honestly ALL OVER the floor of the herp room right now!!!

Afterwards, he began cruising and looking for more... I opened to take a pic, and he nearly drew as much blood from me! Think he looks happy? Haha, what an amazing animal to keep!

he's gorgeous!

with an animal that has such a feeding response, i would stick to newspaper just to make sure he doesnt ingest any substrate during his feeding frenzy.

I second that! Or have a separate feeding enclosure.

Nice snake, looks like he has some attitude.

This is the only feeding that has been on aspen. I stopped my rat breeding colony, and had a bunch of aspen... I house all but two of my snakes on newspaper, and thought that I'd try aspen for him, so that he could burrow.

I had the rat in one hand, and opened the bin with the other. I was going to place a newspaper over the aspen and then put the rat on it... That's when he came shooting out!

I plan on keeping him on newspaper once again. I don't think that I want to handle him after feeding (so no separate feeding enclosure!) as he is very fast and active!

Thanks for the compliments and concerns though!

Your bull and my bull could be twins. How big is your guy? Mine is about 4' and has an identical feeding response. They also dig chickens if you want to mix up his diet a little.
