Smile Yet another few hundred dollar day

Well today I got my Columbian Red Tail Boa. I've looked through many care sheets and read a small book at the store. I got it from a store that buys all of their reptiles from LLL reptile, and doesn't really raise the price at all, that's why I like to frequent there, although this is my first purchase. She has 2 Columbian Red Tail Boas, about 3 ft away from eachother on different racks. I was looking at the small one at first and noticed it had some mites. So I quickly notified the shop keep who said she had just gotten him in today, and she quickly disinfected the cage and brought the snake in the back for cleaning and quarantine. So she took me to the bigger one about 2 1/2 ft and nice girth who I saw her feeding a week before. We examined her for mites and the cage, and then gave it a bath and there were no mites present. So since I found the new snake had mites she told me she'd gladly sell me this one for cheaper since I could have saved her whole room from a mite infestation. So I ended up paying $100.00 for the beauty.

Just wondering if even though we couldn't find the mites if it's still possible he has some? I've got him in the carrying crate still and will bathe him again before moving him into his new enclosure which is 55 gallons and its over 2 ft tall. Regardless it's a beautiful snake and LLL reptiles has some good quality animals just no idea why the little one had mites. I'll have some pictures up soon!

Also if he does happen to have mites could they spread to my lizards or are they snake specific?
