I was channel surfing and a snake show caught my eye... It looks like it's taking place in some country in the east, maybe Indonesia or near India (no idea)...

They'd put guys in a ring with a large cobra and he'd have to stare it down and poke at it until it struck at him...

Then they had a little boy do it :\ They also had a burm around a little girl and she put its head in her mouth :P

What ever happened to Saturday morning cartoons? :\

Its amazing how that part and other parts of the world see reptiles (snakes) as religious icons, medicinal, fear and warrior breakers, fun challenging entertainment and so on. We as herpers see it more as crude or total cruel behavior. And then these shows pop up showing myths and paranoia as well as peek the mind of ignorance. A full soup of nothing positive over the negative in actual informative information for people.

I missed that show, but I know I would be somewhat emotional about seeing people test and piss off a cobra. In most cases that animal will only put fear more people from its attack, yet forgetting it was stressed into acting that way.

Then those reality shows (no names) go and spook people and create some dumb fear about reptiles (snakes) - well enough I am getting edgy here on this topic.
