That’s amazing. That you can see maternal instinct in such a small little creature. Its like crocs, people view them as vicious predators, which they are, but when it comes to helping their offspring they would lose their own life. That’s what fascinates me most bout reptiles
Great pics and thanks for sharing!

Nice family pictures
I used to have Green-eyed Geckos - G. stentor/smithii who are similar to tokays - same personality but a bit less bite It was great watching the group taking care of all the babies.
Do you hear the adult(s) comminicating with the babies? The Green-eyes used specific sounds to convey danger, feeding time and a host of other situations.

That's really cool I'm starting to really like Tokays, did you just leave the eggs in the enclosure to hatch?

Thanks everybody, they are a real joy to work withand yes I do believe all tokays are this way, although we did have another female in with them in early 04 but had to remove her from the group because she was an egg eater.Dad is very huge probably over a foot long and his head is wide enough to bite at least three fingers at once, not that I know from experience or anything! Defineately not something you would want to get bit by! Very protective of the babies yes!! As for vocalizations I've only really heard them when startled or when calling for mates. I do plan on selling the babies, and if all goes well, I will be at the TARAS show in Calgary in April. Anybody interested can look for me there. I will be sure to keep you all posted as to wether or not we'll be attending. Thanks for all the replies. Tokays Rock!!

I let my eggs in the cage and they incubated fine! The babies are very cool as well. I took my babies out of the moms cage though because sometimes the mom doesnt eat for a couple days and I dont trust her. But I feed my babies small crickets.
Thanks
