wow

I just picked up my first boa ever ( 4 ft male light BCI). I have had numerous snake in my life mostly corns, but this is by far my favorite ever. He's puppy dog tame, and my question to all BCI and BCC owners is, how often do you handle yours. I know that you are not supposed to handle any snake very often, but I cant help myself, I want to have him out 24/7. Please help me out, I'm worried to much handling will lead to stress or something.

Thank you in advance for your time, and responses
Sincerely Dylan2b

DYLAN:

Aside from breeding season and feeding / shedding schedules I try and handle my collection 1 - 3 times in a 10 day period, a session can average 5 - 15 minutes each. Its more a physical than fun time, I like to check them over make sure all is OK and get them used to handling. A few of them actually get personal time like 20 minutes in front of the TV while I watch they move around. But as far as too much handling and stressing them out as long as you understand these are animals and for the most part we don' t see the stress that a baby or adult goes through in our hands. Getting them used to you is 1 thing over doing it like it a a puppy is another.

Just my 2 cents.

Tony
