I just came back from Belize too! Sounds like you had better weather than I did. You're lucky, you saw actual wildlife I just had little kids sucker me into buying stuff on the beach...
There's a picture in your gallery, it looks like wood with these little things on it...what are they?

Did you go anywhere else besides Placencia?

Glover's Atoll for 7 days of cheap, deserted island living! A couple of days at each end on the mainland, probably doing the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Centre for the first couple. Not sure what we'll doing when we get back to the mainland- possibilities include Cockscomb (the jaguar preserve), Caves Branch, or just exploring around the Hopkins/Sittee River area.

I'm disapointed we didn't get to do the Belize City Zoo.... I really wanted to go, but just didn't happen...oh well next time. I'm not sure if your going to Cockscomb to see Jaguars... but the chances of seeing one are 1/17,000 ... not very good... but there is lots of other wildlife to see.... another cool day trip is taking a boat tour through monkey river... you can see crocs, iquanas, boas, howler monkeys, and tons of cool birds....
