Thanks.
Tame? Hmmm.....
Actually, Nandini has just begun to tolerate handling from the start of this year, since I decided to try without gloves (I got her last August). I also guess that cute little snake has just realised that us three big ugly monsters are not going to eat her or turn her into a pair of boots...I wouldn't use the word "tame" but rather say that she has begun to trust us.
Yesterday, while Nandini was sitting on my lap, my girl came running towards me and Nandini feinted a strike in surprise (which of course surprised my daughter in return....) But even after that, she remained calm, even when my wife took her moments later.
I wouldn't recommend a blood python as first choice pet for young children, but I don't think they deserve all the bad rap either. If you will allow me to brag a little, I'd say that I let my child handle her because I know what I am doing and know how to read the behaviour of my snake; "not to be tried at home" by just anyone...
BTW, I'm Canadian, but live in Japan.

Nice snake! One of mine looks almost exactly like that! I'll post a pic. I understand what you mean by you know how to read the behavior of the snakes. Its something that seems to come with time and experience with the animal/s. Thanks for sharing.

She seems bigger than that from the pics, and with good girth too. She's obviously well taken care of.

Thanks.
Yeah I made a mistake. However that happens to be her size in those pics. Shes actually not that girthy, though she did lengthen out. If I can get a pic of her that is with her stretched out, you will see that. She is, IMO perfectly proportinate. I would say yours is too.
