Modding game systems and such...

Well my friend and I recently got into this hobby.

We order LEDS, resistors, and such off the computer...and mod our gaming systems.

I have a green LED in my controller...a green one in my memory card..and i have my PS2 cutout on the top..with blue LEDs all around it.

Here are pics.

WEll I cant find the pics of my memory card...but I will get them up in a few.

ENJOY

hey
i wouldnt waste ur time on even trying for a mod chip as theres a chance u can ruin ur whole system
u should try ordering this system on the site on gunna leave
u can burn and play games without a mod chip and its around $70 canadian shipped

The discs I'm buying do the same thing, except are $20 each.

If i decided to get a Mod Chip..I'm sure I could fit it properly without damage..considering my friend and I soldered all of these parts fine. THe wiring is crazy.

All those lights in your system look great, but have you done anything to further increase ventilation within the system? I ask this becasue I would be concerned about the heat these lights produce. Though it may seem insignificant, I would be afraid that the heat produced by these lights in what is already a minimally cooled system would raise the temps beyond desirable levels. Have you had any problems with the system heating up and/or overheating after prolonged use?
I am only asking these questions becuase I have found that the sony systems (I have PS1 and PS2) to be fairly flighty in terms of long term performance. The systems rarely work properly after 3+ years of heavy use even with regular maintenance.
Don't get me wrong, I am a Playstation guy more than anything, but I have noticed that the systems seem to have a best before date.

Unless they're run at a higher than specified voltage LED's give off negligible heat. Even if they're running hot they don't give off anything close to the heat the CPU in the system gives off
