Thumbs up Galo de Portugal from Barcelos

EVERYONE:

Well I was goofing around with the camera and then my uncle showed up with a gift from back home. I was expecting it for awhile since summer and I am so happy it arrived.

Known as - Galo de Portugal from Barcelos, I remember my younger days seeing so many of these on my trip that I wanted the best one I could find. Guess my uncle heard that and checked into the fair (feira) where that same table after 17 years still sells these beauties. Lots of childhood memories kicked in from those days.

Thank you Tio Fernando Da Costa.

Below is a photo I found on the net with some of these fairs (feiras).

This is the site I found it at.

And below is mine from my uncle.

NOTE:

Ball Python not included

This may not interest many here but maybe a few Portuguese or mixes

PS. Please stay on topic, thank you.

Tony Pharosx

EDIT:

The rooster is 2.5 feet tall.

Yeah, the galo de Barcelos is a symbol of Portugal. It's nice to see that certain traditions remain.
Since this is a herp website is never to much to remember you all that LACERTA LEPIDA is also a symbol of Portugal and that tradition, unfortunatly, can one day exist no more. As we build houses, roads, malls and expand our urban limits, these beautifull jurassic creatures
are left with less territory. It's hard to see one around these days.
