funny math
Let's see if you all still remember how to do basic adding using only your brain. (c'mon, this is very simple, no need to get a calculator)
Take 1000 and add 40 to it
Now add 30
add an extra 1000
now add 20 plus another 1000
add 1000 again
add 10
How much did you get??
I bet many of you got 5000.
Check again. It's really 4100

I did it in my head and got 3100 as well. Is there some trick in the wording we're missing?

There was a mistake. It's edited now.
No catch. it's proven that 90% of people get 5000 wich is wierd.

I don't see where people could be mistaking?! Right before you add the last 10, you are at 4090, so add 10 and you get 4100... I guess if people still add numbers by taking the 0 out and the putting it back at the end, you could end up with 5000.

When you put it on papper like that, it gets easy. But if you do it in your head (like the game is supposed to be done) there's a natural tendency to jump to 5000. ask someone and you'll be surprised...

Asian Jon, if you are one of those that didn't get fooled you are part of that 10% minority. (maybe that's not so good ).
Many times, Our mind leads the way before we can think. It's like that classic question : QUICK, THINK OF ANY NUMBER FROM 1 TO 5.
Most of us choose number 3.

Lol. That's an old "barroom" riddle. Heard it a dozen times. Here's another.
Three guys rent a motel room. Please, don't ask me why they would, cause the answer can only be gross to me. Anyway, the room costs 30 bucks, and they pay it. The owner goes to their room and says, "Sorry, dudes. I overcharged you. It's only 25 bucks. Here's your fin back. They say "Great. We'll keep a buck back each and give you a 2 dollar tip."
That means that each have now paid only NINE dollars apiece, which adds up to 27, and then they've given the owner a 2 dollar tip, which adds up to 29. Where'd the other dollar go?
Don't ask me for the answer.
