The black beard could be anything from pissed off, stressed out, or wanting a mate.

If you could answer a few more questions i might and other too, may be able to help you better.

What size cage?
What lights are you using both for heat and UVB?
What substrate?
What is all the food you are using with him, salads, crick, mealies, silks, things like that.
What is the temps cool and hot side?

Things like that will help us out alot better.

Jamie

when was the last time your beardie defecated? (took a poo). Liitle stones are NOT a good substarte for a beardie and could lead to impaction. I would change the substarte to paper towel or reti carpet for the time being. Fruits such as apples and grapes should olny be fed as treats, twice a month max. Carrots should also be used olny as treats and when You feed them to him the carrot should be shredded or chopped very finely. As for the lack of appetite could be a number of things. Impaction/stress and anything else drewlowe mentioned
At ten months old your beardies diet should be aboult half vegetables. Does your beardie have a UVB emmiting light?
