I know several people have heated racks with similar products. Never used it myself however.

One is used on roofing to keep snow and ice away from the edges, and the other is run along both metal and PVC pipes to keep them from freezing. I was thinking that them hooked up to a thermostat/rheostat would work.. they don't get hot enough to burn the roof or pvc so I doubt they'd burn down my enclosures..
The rof de-icing cables are fabulous!!!! A good friend of mine (uog11 on ssnakess) has used this stuf for quite some time on a rheostat, and it is incredible and cost effective. Just make sure that you have either a piece of sheet metal OR some aluminum foil over top of it to dissipate the heat.
