Any info on African House snakes

I have always had an intrest in the African House Snake, and at one time I had the opertunity to own an adult Female, since she has passed I have finaly found another pair. Unfortunatly all the info I can find on the net has basicly said the same thing, and everyone in my reptile club has never even herd of them.....Does anyone happen to have any info they wish to share?

What do you want to know? I have 4 of them now and they're very easy to keep. This care sheet is good to answer most of your questions.
African Housesnake care sheet
Temperaments vary in the ones I've kept. I've got a couple of snappy juveniles and one that's very docile. With adults, I've got a female that will bite if she's disturbed in the cage, but she's fine once out. They are super easy to breed (my female triple clutched last year). I've had no trouble switching them to frozen/thawed prey either, great feeding responses.
Anyway, post some specific questions if you have them and I'll try to answer for you.
Adult brown female- this is the "I'm going to bite you look"

Juvenile red female- they're tiny when hatched.

Hatchling black/green phase- these vary in coloration from an olive to near black

The photo hosting site seems to be down right now...

Here's my olive phase girl.

lolaophidia, where did you get your hatchling olive phase? I've been trying to find a male for my female without any luck.

The olive phase pair came from Stephen Emerick out at Napa Valley Snakes www.NapaValleySnakes.com. I think they may have been from East Bay Vivarium stock originally. I'd been looking for them for a while and when I saw his ad (on another site) I contacted him. He's got a great selection and gets in some unique snakes. I think he's got Namibians in now.
I hope my little pair grow up to look like your female! She's a beauty. Do you notice your's changing color? Mine vary from day to day it seems. From a light olive shade to the dark charcol color.

Thanks, that's actually an older picture from before I had her, and she was still on fuzzy mice. She's on juvenile mice now already!

Her colour doesn't change so much day to day, but does change quite a bit from shed to shed. Sometimes she'll be almost completely black, but other times she'll just be a chocolatey grey.

Thanks for the reference; and if you see them offered anywhere else, please let me know.

I'll try. I obsessively check the classifieds on half a dozen sites. You never know what you'll find...
