Female gaboon...... PIC

I put all of my gaboons on a more natural substate..... Topsoil, mulch, and a nice thick layer of white oak leaves.....

Captive born gaboons or gaboons that have been acclimated for sometime are usually very docile and lethargic...which is why they are so dangerous. 99.9% of the time, they can be like little pussy cats, but the ONE time you get complacent and cut corners on handling protocol is the time when they nail you...and there is not a person alive who could dodge a gaboon strike if they are within strike range...if you're in range, and they strike, you are royally screwed

Those are so awesome Gregg... I have to agree with Tony though But they're always my favourite thing to see at the zoo.

Thanks for the compliments...... Gaboons are not scary at all.... Well not after you have been keeping them for years....... Psilocybe is 100% correct in his statements.....

There was a guy who freehandled his gaboon for a number of years before he donated it to our local rescue where I sometimes volunteer...all I can say is he's lucky he donated it before the inevitable happened...
