OH how I love people! :D

Well.......awhile back I met a girl at the mall. After talking for awhile we started to hang out. Well when I went over her house for the first time she showed me her POORLY kept Bearded Dragon. No UVB, a few crickets a week, a lid for a water dish, and its in a 10 gallon.

Well she IM'ed me today, and it died.

And she now has a Green Iggy. And when I told her she will need a cage about 8x8x8....she got mad.....said i dont need your f'ing advice.....and got off of the messenger.

Thanks for listening

That sucks. I hate it when people don't give a crap about what an animal needs.

Makes you feel terribly sorry for the animal and mad as hell at the 'owner'.

Kinda like the pet store I go to. The girl there was telling me about how a few months back a family came in to buy some crickets. She asked what they were feeding and the reply was a green iguana, that they had bought from the pet store in the local mall, a few days earlier.
They went on to say that they had been looking for a good starter reptile for a while and that they were happy with the iggy seeing as they only grew to be 10 INCHES!!
The girl corrected them very quickly about how big iguanas get, and proper care and such. The people were actually cool about it and shelled out cash for the right lights, food and such.
I guess the pet store at the mall was just trying to clear it out before it got too big, it was still a pretty ignorant thing to do. At least the people who bought it were willing to take the right steps towards its well-being, even when they were lied to.

Petstores in my area are now making you fill in forms, which say what you are keep them in, and supplies and such. They also quiz you and if get a mark lower then what is exceptable you may not have have a reptile or any pet till you get the approiate mark.
