Hi DeadlyDose-
You can try asking your question in the kingsnake forum here on ssnakess.com as well.
Kingsnakes are easy to raise and normally very easy to care for. They can have more attitude and "spunk" than some other species though.
No one can say if it's the right snake for you, I suggest researching a few species and decided which will best fit you personally.
