I guess ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances eh? Seriously though there is little point getting in an uproar everytime someone does something seriously stupid, I just wish they'd have the common sense not to post photos of it online.

Oh well, I guess we need to cull the unfit somehow.

Too bad they have to make the rest of us look bad.

There's a saying that goes, " The only one problem with the gene pool, is that there's no lifeguards!!"

And if the guy got bitten even by the hatchling cobras and the press found out about it..............................

And people wonder how exotic animal bans start.

hey JD, from which user (in kingsnake) did u get the pix from? that picture right there showed a set up that is to familiar to me. It is a shop of a reptile trader in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (notice the bread package on the right, it's malaysian made bread). i go there everyweek.

My 45 yr old Chinese friend hatched that clutch in March 2004 and sold 50 babies to the trader. They were 54 babies all together. from the pix, it seems that most of them had been sold. the trader's kept telling everybody who walks into the store that the babies (kingcobra), which were all about 2 weeks old don't bite. he (trader) added that the babies only develop the instinct to bite after about 1 to 2 months of age. is that true??? (i didn't touch any)....i love my life too much....

Well someone talk to this joker in a month or two and see if he's still alive. Regardless, it looks like good fun!

Now that I have paid more attention to the newspaper substrate in the photo.. the text is defnitely not in English (except of course for the word Sillicon of course). If this is the case.... I am relieved that the North American press cannot hold that aganst any North American keepers when buddy gets bitten.

So by the seller's logic..... these snakes must not eat for the first two months of life? Because.. they have no instinct to bite.... right??? Sounds a little loopy to me.

I think George Carlin said it best...

Well, the photo was posted on KS classifieds by a U.S. dealer, not just a forum browser...while it's possible he used someone elses pic, it's not very likely.

Someone on a different forum mentioned that they thought the hand looked like it belonged to a well-known SI guy...I have an idea of who he meant, but I'm not going to name names.

In any case, I don't think photos like that should be publicly displayed, it just leads to bad stuff happening.
