Cool weather snake

Hey, I'm a nice guy, right?? Then why all the fuss??
A friend and I had an hour to kill this a.m. and he found this 5' eastern coachwhip heading down a gopher tortoise hole in 70F (and getting cooler) weather. Perhaps it's because he's in his shed cycle or that he thought he escaped our notice, but did he have to chew my hand to make his point??

Mark,

What an AWESOME photo! I love how he's got his mouth wide open like that and the blood on your hand makes the pic priceless!!!

Yeah, i like your first pic the best. The motion in which the snake is is just insane! Glad you took a pic of it! And the blood on your hand makes it looks so mean, hehe! Go on herping!

Haha looks like he got you good Russ, you guys could always put on a pair of gloves I usually bring a pair when I got out, but then again we wouldn't get to see these great pictures. Funny thing is the only snake thats bit me and drew blood was a garter snake.

That's a totally cool pic! I'm not sure I've seen a real-life pic so dramatic looking before! Looks like one of those wild n' crazy drawings you see on the front of a book or movie
