New ETB's first meal

Hey everyone well I finally decided to try feeding my emerald for the first time. It looked ready to eat only days after I picked it up (would hang there ready to strike) but decided to give it time to settle in before feeding just to be safe , I just feed it an appropriate sized mouse and it took it without hesitation.

I can see how people get bit though; I have never seen a snake with such horrible aim. I mean I have seen snakes miss but not like this guy. and they use much more of there body length in striking, all my other boids get fairly close before striking this guy uses half his body length when he launches.

In the end I had absolutely no feeding problems one of my best feeders I have got.

DEVON:

Yes ETBs are rather unique in feeding response.
Good to hear its all settled in and wanting food.

This is 1 of my younger ones waiting and eating later.

Last week Devon I had to pull my hemos out of my females mouth.lol Bad aim is right. I find warming the feeder to warmer than normal helps improve accuracy. I feed my male every 4 weeks.
Cheers,
Trevor

BOAS_N_PYTHONS, my girl sat like that for days weighting for food, actually she’s doing it again tonight but she’s not getting another mouse for a while. last thing I need is her regurging.

Trevor, I had thought of over heating it, I assumed with those pits it would help the aim, but it was a fresh whacked mouse I didn’t want to ruin the freshness lol.
