Whitespot male breeding his offspring female....

This is really cool because we dont really know if this male carries a Pied gene or not.This is the first time we have been able to bred him back to one of his females.

You can see 2 white spots on his neck area,these are not scars.
I have shown pics of him to Tracey Barker and she says that they have a female just like him and she calls it a reduced Pied.

We have our fingers crossed but if he isnt Pied we still love the old guy.

I guess thats the real fun of it,not knowing what your going to get......

Well we may have some out this coming year because thats his daughter he is breeding so she could be het for it??

Either way we will be happy with any of his babies.

Hmmm looks the same as this one also has a BIG white spot and a small one NOT a scar

In my opinion, there's NO way those are pieds. Pieds have a very unique "normal" part to them. Even the low-white pieds have this strange pattern "mutation" on the colored areas. It's definitely worth breeding and "proving out" (I would do the same) but I would bet $10 to your $1 that they aren't pied in any way, shape or form.

Best of luck with the projects and keep us posted though. I would be more than happy being wrong in this case but I doubt I am.

I think that would classify as a "bull's eye", and from what I could understand, they are not at all related to the pied genetics... as previously mentionned, pieds are very obvious because of their pattern anomaly.. I'm not sure, but I think that bull's eye balls have not proved to be geneticly reproducable either... anybody else heard/understood that?

I agrea with Bristen They are "bull's eye's and from what I understand they Have never been proven geneticly reproducable.

Todd, normals are fine if they are called normals and not "possible pied gene carriers" or "reduced pied" as these terms would be misleading in my opinion.
