new baby ball

I picked up a baby ball at the pcpc show yesterday. I was told that it ate 2 meals so far, since hatching. I was given a free live mouse hopper to feed the ball once it settles in. After having the ball in it's new enclosure for 5 hours I was curious to see if she would go for the live hopper. I usually wait at least 4 days. She immediately took it and down went the hopper (not so live anymore). When should I attempt a f/t prey item? Should I also stick to hopper mice or should I try Equivalent sized rat pups? Thanks, Paul.

I would try an FT item in a week or 5 days or so. It will probably take it. Make sure its heated up really hot. That makes a huge differance.

5 days sounds good. Try not to dangle the F/T rat right in your new balls face as that tends to scare them off. Dangle it around where they can see it but make sure you don't touch it to their head as they will get defensive.
